Photos At My Feet

I have a blogger friend who has captured some beautiful images by looking up with her camera. Because of the rain last Saturday, I found myself looking down for images. The bold colors of these leaves caught my eye as I crossed some railroad tracks. (Click on photos to enlarge.) I’m becoming more convinced that a good pair of walking shoes will help one capture more interesting photos than something new from the camera store.

Speaking of camera stores, are there any good ones still around, or has the internet done most of them in? When I first got interested in photography in the early 1980’s I used to spend a good deal of time at International Camera in Metairie, LA. It was a fun place to drool over new equipment, swap stories, get advice, and just hang out with other photo nuts. Oh yeah, I bought most of my stuff there too. International Camera closed years ago, and I live in another state now anyway. These days, all my camera equipment is researched and purchased online. I save money that way, but I miss the camaraderie of the camera store.

love the photo of the yellow leaf. Photos at My Feet sounds like a cool photobook title too. ;o)
