Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
One of my less inspired days. We had a big server switch on one of the projects that I was on over the last years, lots of configuration changes, 30000 users affected by any possible outage. Made me kinda nervous. It may have sucked my creativity away.

914 - Lay Down Your Weary Tune
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
OK, one more for today, then we are back to present.
This is another image made with Andreas’ (the other one) Tokina 16-50/2.8. Boy, this lens is heavy, but on the other hand, it feels really well balanced on the D300.
Chromatic aberrations are very tame, distortions are well [...]
913 - That’s The Way It Goes
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
Monday morning we were invited by friends in Klagenfurt. Andreas Frei is the owner of Freiaudio, the leading recording studio in Carinthia, a good friend and by chance also owner of a Nikon D80 and a Tokina 16-50/2.8.
What shall I say, we’ve swapped lenses for a week, [...]
912 - On The Road In Slovenia
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
OK, OK, “911 - Spring Is Here” was probably really a tad … hmmm … lacking in the color department. Art is no democracy, but the wise artist heeds the voice of the public, even more so, when it’s really ONE voice. “Post-apocalyptic“! Guys, you really know [...]

Turned Into Stone
Submitted by Photoplus Tutorials Blog
Turn a pretty girl into stone or may be yourself, if you were wondering what you would like like as a stone statue. You do not need divine powers to do it. Just use Photoshop, whatever version you have.
I have taken this image.
And this stone texture I found on the internet.
And [...]

Books, Wines & a Cycling Platypus
Submitted by Craig Photography Blog
I just read, actually mostly viewed, “Things I learned in my life so far” by graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister. I ordered this book from the library after reading a recommendation. The book is comprised of separated journals all placed in a single sleeve to look like a book. This work [...]
911 - Spring Is Here
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
It’s just about time to give a new meaning to 911, ain’t it? It has haunted us for almost eight years now. It has been abused to introduce the worst backlash against freedom of expression that our western civilization in the so-called free countries had to endure [...]
910 - Look Into The Sun
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
Did you ever need to rotate an image? Badly need it? By a substantial amount maybe? I did.
No problem in Photoshop, the only thing is, that you lose a big amount of your image when you crop it back into the frame. The bigger the angle, the [...]
Mono Color Poster
Submitted by Photoplus Tutorials Blog
Some posters use a single color for a poster. This is a monochromatic effect. It can be easily created in Photoshop.
Only a single color and single image has been used for making the poster.

Sweet White Violet
Submitted by My Viewfinder Blog
I had planned to mow my lawn yesterday, but lately, Saturday means rain around these parts. If I had mowed the lawn, I might not have gotten to see this little beauty, a Sweet White Violet, growing in my front yard. The tiny flower is about an inch from top to [...]
Epson 7900 Experience - Printing
Submitted by Howard Grill Blog
I suspect this will be the last of my sequential posts about the new Epson 7900, with plans for scattered additional posts about it as I become more facile with using the machine.
The 7900 is up and running and I can make some general comments to start with.
1. Printing is definitely [...]

909 - At The Bus Stop
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
Shooting with the fish and using Fisheye-Hemi™ for distortion correction is a hit and miss affair. It’s not very easy to pre-visualize what you will get. I have a general feeling for it now, but there are still many times when I am surprised by the outcome. [...]

908 - At The Break Of Day
Submitted by The Daily Photography of Andreas Manessinger Blog
Just before I got this incredibly light, wonderfully cheap and fantastically performing Nikon 35/1.8, just before I got it - some of you may remember - I made some experiments with the fisheye and a Photoshop plugin called Fisheye-Hemi™.
Well, I’ve returned to this.
Actually I love both [...]

On Being a Prius Owner “so-far”
Submitted by Craig Photography Blog
Things that have disappointed me “so-far” about being a Prius owner:
-People do not applaud when I enter a building.
-Starkbucks does not give me free soy lattés.
-Being an elitist is lonely
-Savings of only 19 cents a month on car insurance.
-I cannot find my car in an Ikea parking lot.
-Al Gore still [...]
