He’s a proud Southern Baptist, but he doesn’t slavishly conform to every denominational position or policy. He’s not afraid to go against the grain of traditional understandings of key doctrines, and instead, teach what the Bible actually teaches. He does so with both gentleness and firmness. He is as much at home in the study as he is in the pulpit, which gives his preaching both power and credibility. He has a love for souls and a burning desire to see people come to faith in Christ, but he eschews gimmicks and purely emotional appeals as a substitute for true evangelism. He’s a man of prayer, a man of integrity, a man of God. He’s my pastor, Alan Davis. (Click on photo to enlarge.)
